Meghan Felgenhauer’s favorite part of her internship as a guide on the Matanuska Glacier in Alaska was completing the crevasse rescue training. Each morning, she went out on the ice, practiced building ice anchors, and learned how to use ropes to create a pulley system to pull people up.
“I work with an amazing group of interns from all over the US, which has made this learning experience so much fun.”

Major:Physics Internship: Wisconsin Space Grant Consortium Project Intern at NASA
Owen Bonnett enjoys being able to collaborate with talented scientists, engineers, and fellow Carthage interns at the Johnson Space Center. He is thankful that someone is always around to help nudge him in the right direction.
“Not a day passes where I don’t learn from the unique ways my fellow researchers here at JSC approach a problem. Having the opportunity to work so closely with such brilliant people from both JSC and Carthage has been nothing short of awesome.”

Majors:English and Communication Internship: Marketing/Editorial Intern at Advancing Organizational Excellence (AOE)
As a remote marketing and editorial intern for AOE, Tessa Baty is gaining skills in mediated communication, working on response times, and learning how to build meaningful work connections.
“I’ve been learning a lot and have been put on a wide variety of tasks; such as creating educational videos, editing newsletters, and working with AI. I love how rich and diverse of an experience it has been.”

As an intern with the Kenosha Kingfish, Jessica Beymer helps with game day operations and gains experience in sports marketing, broadcasting, and accounting. Every task she completes brings her closer to a future in the sports industry.

Major:Physics Internship: DIII-D Fusion Reactor, General Atomics, LLAMA Diagnostic Calibration Research Intern
Jordan Bopp’s favorite part of his internship is helping with lab optimization. The experience of fixing something valuable to a project has been rewarding for him. Moments like these help expedite research and future research done by his advisor and team.
“I have learned that it is almost always worth improving your scientific tools to allow you, the scientist, to do better work.”
During Destiny Garcia’s internship with Pillar Health, she has shadowed providers, sat in on continued-learning provider meetings, and trained to use OCHIN Epic, the electronic health record system used across many health organizations.
“My favorite part has been seeing providers interact with patients; they have the perfect drive for serving the uninsured and underinsured in Kenosha.”

Major:Environmental Science Internship: Natural Resource Intern at Hamilton County Parks
During her internship, Jada Propst has had the opportunity to work alongside professionals and to soak up all the information shared. Her main project is focused on surveying for invasive species and the removal of said species.
“My data gathering skills have strengthened, and I have learned so much while putting them to use. Even collaborating with the other interns to develop and update content for future interns has helped me to grow professionally.”

Tre Mitchell is enjoying his wildlife technician internship working with Utah’s diverse ecosystems and species. He is learning about state regulations, environmental stewardship, and the science behind sustainable wildlife management.

Major:Marketing Internship: Costumer Service Intern at Uline
Throughout her costumer service internship with Uline, Tamara Nedeljkovic has enjoyed the structured environment that encourages employees to be detail-oriented, efficient, and focused on delivering exceptional customer service.
“My experience at Uline has been both meaningful and transformative. It has challenged me to grow professionally and personally, and I am truly grateful for the skills I have developed and the relationships I have built along the way.”

Major:Graphic Design Internship: Graphic Design Intern at AbbVie
At AbbVie, Jack Deleon enjoys the new experiences he is gaining — whether they are in technical ability or in social skills, every week he is learning and doing something new. Working closely with his team has been really rewarding because they are very supportive.
“Project management is probably the most important skill I’ve been building through this position so far. There’s a lot going on at once, and I have to make sure things are done on time. All in all, I love it here, and it’s a great place to be working!”
Malia Green ’26
Major:Psychology Internship: Intern at NorthStar Adolescent Day Treatment Program
In her internship, Malia Green aims to build bonds with the children and help them feel understood, seen, and have a sense of normalcy. One thing that surprised her in her experience was the group therapy dynamic, especially with adolescents.
“This is a new perspective for me when it comes to therapy and healing, and it’s an interesting experience to be a part of and learn from.”
As a research intern at Coastal Marine Education, Lilli Hosfield has had an incredible experience of being out on the water and working with wildlife every day.
“I’ve had the greatest time at my internship. I have learned so much about sharks and rays, catching them, tagging them, and much more about marine biology and boating.”

By interning at a bank in his hometown, Adam Kemp works alongside familiar faces. Additionally, working with the different departments in the bank and sitting in on various meetings has been very educational for Adam.

Major:Communication Internship: Media Team Intern at Racine Raiders Football
Through his internship with the Racine Raiders, Andrew Czysz has worked as a sideline reporter and PA announcer. The fundamentals behind reporting include weather reports, injury reports, and interviewing players after huge plays.
“What makes this position fun is the ability to work with a highly regarded semi-pro team, connect with the players on a personal level, and enjoy the perks of building my resume while doing something hands-on.”

Majors:Psychology and Neuroscience Internship: Summer Counselor at Stateline Mental Health
Upon starting her internship as a summer counselor at Stateline Mental Health, Kyra Lewis immediately felt welcomed by the staff and was excited to learn new knowledge from them. So far, her favorite part of her internship has been working with a wide variety of people and leveling up on the skills she learned in her courses at Carthage.
“I have definitely gotten better at my note-taking skills this summer!”
Kaitlyn Goff’s favorite moment as a research intern at Coastal Marine Education was catching and tagging a nine-foot nurse shark. It was by far the biggest shark the team has ever caught, and it put up the biggest fight
“I had to use the tail rope so we could get it in the boat, which was super cool. When we got it on the boat, my job was to hold the shark down so it wouldn’t move while tagging.”
Sarah Kersten is continuing her internship at AbbVie, which she has enjoyed so much the past few semesters. She utilizes Power BI and DAX (language to create measures/calculated columns) to build multiple dynamic dashboards to present to leaders for information research.
“It’s pretty cool to know that my work is used to show important business insights!”
Adrian Maciejewski ’26
Major:Criminal Justice Internship: Intern at Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office
During his internship with the Kenosha County Sheriff’s Office, Adrian Maciejewski has had the chance to ride along with patrol, observe dispatch, work with the detective’s bureau, assist in administrative services, and spend time inside the jail. Each day brings something new, and being able to see how different areas of the agency work together has helped him better understand how law enforcement functions on a county level.
“I’ve been able to sharpen my communication, professionalism, and situational awareness in real-world settings, all of which are helping me grow more confident in my future career path.”

Major:Environmental Science Internship: Piping Plover Monitor Intern at Lake County Audubon Society
Ava Phillips has had a wonderful experience monitoring piping plovers during her internship with Lake County Audubon Society. Her favorite part has been watching the chicks grow, stumble around, do some cute brooding, and even attempt to fly. She’s enjoyed meeting so many new people with similar interests and learning from them.
“This internship has strengthened my passion for conservation and provided me with wonderful hands-on experience. I am more than grateful for the opportunity to contribute to the preservation of piping plovers.”
Through her internship, Lindsey Silva has had the opportunity to create projects that highlight the vibrant student life and community at Carthage and share them on the College’s official social media platforms.

Jack Liptow has had a fantastic experience so far at Mariner Finance. He has strengthened his customer service, sales, and financial advisory skills through his internship. His favorite part is helping customers get financing that fits their budget.

Abigail Vagnoni’s favorite part of her product marketing internship with Uline has been the learning experience it provides. The company has been nothing but welcoming and supported her throughout her internship in taking on challenges and new opportunities.
“I have met so many amazing people in a variety of different positions throughout the company, and I am grateful for the opportunity to speak to them and learn more about their unique roles.”

Majors:Psychology and Criminal Justice Internship: Trial Paralegal Intern at Wisconsin State Public Defender
In her internship with the Wisconsin State Public Defender, Taylor Minnaert has enjoyed observing, learning from, and engaging with highly skilled attorneys. The most memorable part of her internship has been attending treatment court. It has been an eye- opening experience for Taylor to see how professionals, who often have opposing roles, come together with a shared goal.
“These experiences have reshaped my understanding of how the justice system can acknowledge the root cause of some individuals’ actions and provide treatment for them rather than subject individuals to immediate incarceration.”

At her internship with the Kane County Cougars, Jocie Westphal loves being part of the team that creates the magic behind the scenes. AJ Prieboy’s summer internship as a marketing and sales intern for the Chicago Union Ultimate Frisbee has been beneficial and fun. He has met so many people in the sports business world and in the local Chicago sports arena.
“I have developed my networking skills by going out and talking to businesses and clients. It has been a blast working for the Chicago Union and attending all of the events.”

Major:Environmental Science Internship: Piping Plover Monitor Intern at Lake County Audubon Society
Through his internship with the Lake County Audubon Society, Oliver Slater is helping monitor and protect the endangered Great Lakes piping plover that are nesting along the shores of Waukegan. Oliver shares that he is inspired by the collaboration and passion for ensuring these birds’ safety.
